Creativity is often treated as a personality trait possessed by a fortunate minority. Linus Bille's _The Ideation Equation_ challenges this belief by presenting creative thinking as an ability shaped by habits: how people direct attention, acquire knowledge, move between concentrated and diffuse modes, notice emerging thoughts, capture ideas and convert possibilities into action. This article develops that central proposition for university students. Each theme is assessed against research on divergent thinking, associative processes, cognitive control, incubation, walking, mindfulness, cognitive offloading, fixation, bias and experiential learning. The article concludes with a 30-day training programme and reusable tools for essays, group projects and business ideas. The argument is not that habits guarantee genius. Rather, habits increase the frequency and quality of encounters from which useful originality can emerge. Creative ability grows when students build a repeatable system that prepares the mind, widens its search, preserves fragile ideas and learns through disciplined experimentation.
